The Letter C

This week we're learning about the letter C. Our C is covered in cotton balls. C is the first letter in the words cookie, candy, color, clock, clown, calendar and car.

We did a lot of color projects like adding dye to water to see what color it would turns, playing with different colors of playdoh and even eating different colors of fruit!

We also labeled a calendar and talked about all of the days, counted the numbers on a clock and, of course, COLORED!

Sports

What would a little boys' preschool curriculum be without a unit on sports? We made a sticker chart with all kinds of different balls, and talked about different sports. We also played a cool relay game with all different kinds of balls. See what good athletes we are!

We also talked about King Benjamin and read his scripture about serving each other. This week, we are going to try to find people to serve. We wrote names of some people that we thought we could help on some stars, and when we do some service for them, we get to turn the stars over and write our name. We can't wait!

The Letter B

B is the first letter in the words bug, bread, ball, and bear. This week we played with Teddy Bears, sang some teddy bear songs, and made a bee. It really flew! See it sailing out behind us on its string while we ran around the house?

Independence Day

Our theme this week was Independence Day. We talked a lot about our flag and that it is a symbol of our free country. We learned that some people who live in other countries don't have the freedom to make choices. We read a book about George Washington, and how he never gave up, even when it looked like he could never win. We liked to pretend we were soldiers in his army. Then we made these awesome flags! Spence even glued the stripes on all by himself! Mom sang us the National Anthem, and we remembered it from Church last week! Happy Birthday, America!

The Letter A

A is for Apple! This week we learned about the letter A, its sound and lots of words that start with A. Our favorite was apple! We had an apple for our snack, and then we painted using our apples. A is also for Animal. We talked about lots of different kinds of animals. Then we wore our elephant masks to sing "Jumbo the Elephant," and make really loud elephant sounds. Mom said we were the loudest elephants in the world!

First Day of School

We started our new lessons on Thursday, July 2nd in our new Oklahoma house. We took our pictures, and then reviewed all of our letters. We read a new book called "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom," and our new lessons will be all about the letters in this book. We had a really fun time singing our alphabet songs, coloring, and having an ABC snack. We can't wait to get back into school! YEA!
